Decorating an apartment is all about figuring out how to make the most of the space you have. You don’t want to get oversized furniture that will make the rest of your apartment seem small, and you don’t want to get undersized furniture that won’t accomodate your needs! If you think you need help finding that perfect balance that will help your apartment look beautiful, check out the blog post below.
Oh, and when you’re done reading the list of decorating tips, feel free to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Canvas — the apartments South Austin residents choose for luxury living.
Consider Open Storage
Metal wire shelves and open entertainment stands make for great additions to any apartment. You’re going to need storage space in your apartment, so you might as well make everything accessible and well-organized by storing in on open shelves. Adding the wire shelves to your kitchen space can give your kitchen that modern industrial look, which seems to be all the rage these days.
Spruce Up your Entryway
One way to add an extra “section” to your apartment is by creating a designated entryway. We recommend buying a standing closet or a bench to put near your entryway, and make sure it’s got some hooks for your hats, scarves and light jackets! Your entryway deserves to be its own space, and creating that space will keep the clutter from overflowing into the rest of your apartment.
Invest in Shiny Things
Not everything that’s shiny is valuable — except when it comes to apartments. It’s always a good decision to buy a mirror or something with a metallic surface because your goal with your apartment to spread light around the room. Shiny objects and mirrors will help reflect light into the dark corners of your space, leaving you with a well-lit apartment that looks bigger because it’s brighter.
Customize your Corners
You can add a lot of space to your apartment by investing in shelves, chairs or tables that are designed to fit in corners. There’s a whole marketplace for products that are made to exist in apartments, and corner pieces make up a category within that market. If you can’t find a chair that fits in the corner, you can still make the most of the space between the chair and the corner by putting a lamp or a tall, skinny shelf back there!
