5 Date ideas from Canvas Apartments South Austin

  |     |   Uncategorized

Living in apartments on William Cannon means having easy access to South Austin, Downtown, Zilker Park and South Congress. In these four neighborhoods, you will find more date spots than the rest of Texas combined. Living in Austin is like having a cheat code to dating. People who live in other cities have to try really hard to come up with original date ideas, but here in Austin, we just walk down the street and stumble upon perfect date nights.

Don’t believe us? We’ll prove it to you. Welcome to the second blog post from Canvas — the apartments in 78745 that will cause you to stop searching in all other area codes. In this week’s blog, we’ll be talking about three date spots that will turn your summer romance into a year-long thing. However, we must warn you, do not take your date to one of the spots on this list unless you’re fully prepared for him or her to fall in love with you. Yeah, they’re that good.

Check out the blog below, and be sure to share this post with some of your friends who may need some help with their dating game.

Date Idea #1: Impress your date by showing off your short game at BYOB Mini Golf

Okay, don’t actually try to impress anyone by being weirdly good at mini golf. There are some activities that you should just be average at, and mini golf is one of them. Anybody who’s too good at mini golf has too much time on their hands.

Just head on over to Peter Pan mini golf on Barton Springs Rd. and remember to BYOB. This course is about as old as anyone can remember, and it’s about as weird as a mini-golf place can be. For starters, it’s on a hill in the middle of the city. Secondly, there are dozens of bizarre statues on the course. They’re all cartoons or characters from children’s books, but they’re made in a way that’s quirky enough to make Peter Pan Mini Golf acceptable for adults.

Enjoy a night of s’mores and s’movies at Blue Starlite Drive In Theatre

Remember when we said living in Austin is like having a cheat code for dating? The Blue Starlite Drive-In is a prime example of that. This drive-in theatre in South Austin is perfect for those warm Texas nights when you just want to lay under the stars. You can pull your car into one of the designated fire pits, pull out some blankets, then go buy one of the s’more kits that they sell at the concession stands. We’ve never before heard of a drive-in theatre with fire pits, but we’re all in.

Get classy at First Thursdays at the South Congress Hotel

On the first Thursday of every month, the South Congress Hotel puts on a live music performance in their gorgeous new space. There’s food trucks outside and plenty of cold drinks inside, all of which can be enjoyed in one of the most luxurious hotels in all of Austin. We hear Matthew Mcconnaughey frequents the South Congress Hotel, so tell him we said hi if you see him there.

Once again, we want to take a moment to thank those of you who’ve come back to read the second blog post from Canvas blogs. We hope this blog post leads to many memorable dates for you and your significant other. Of course, if you liked this post, you can check this page again in a couple weeks to read the next one. Until then, be sure to follow Canvas Apartments on social media. That’s the best way to stay informed about everything happening at the community of apartments South Austin residents prefer.
